Shopping "Foundations" guide

ATTENTION: The prices are snapshots and have surely changed over time. No warranty for the following information and calculations. Based on european prices.

• Starter pack 30 Euro includes two playable decks to play against each other.
• Bundle 51 Euro is the foundation for the respective annual edition to play with self-built decks against each other, with a random factor (available only in English!)
• Commander Decks 45 Euro can each be played against each other. Of the 4 decks per annual edition, each player needs at least one; there is no random factor here, but you can read what you get, and they are balanced.
• PlayBooster (1x) 4.50-7.50 Euro, buy gradually from pocket money or a whole PlayBooster display (36 packs) for around 160 Euro. Each PlayBooster contains 14 cards; each player needs 6 boosters to play, so around 30 Euro (though then only with 40-card decks and unbalanced)
• Jumpstart Booster 2 packs 10 Euro as a set. There are 46 different boosters, each containing 20 cards, half of which are lands. You get 2 out of 46 boosters, mix these 2 together, and can start playing immediately.

If you convert the Foundations prices into random cards (without lands, without considering resale values or rarities), the following comes out as cost per card:

• Booster 4.50 Euro: 14 = 0.32 Euro
• Jumpstart Booster 11 Euro: 10 x 2 = 0.55 Euro
• Starter box 30 Euro: 10 x 10 = 0.30 Euro
• Bundle 51 Euro: 9 x 14 = 0.24 Euro (available only in english)

(The premium price for Jumpstart Boosters is justified in my opinion, because they are playable half-decks. Mix two together and start playing. So you pay for the added benefit.)
